The Tree Protection Plan (TPP )
The Tree Protection Plan, given on the following page, shows the trees selected for retention, clearly identified by number and marked on the plan with crown spread, shape and condition category. Essentially the retained trees, woodland and hedgerows are all on the boundaries of the site.
The two trees to be removed are situated within the site and are identified by broken edged brown coloured circles.
In addition the Tree Protection Plan drawings show the precise location of the tree protection fencing for the retained trees, as the blue lines on the drawing. These are generally the extent of the crown spreads of the trees within the woodland and hedgerows on the boundaries of the site.
Before the development starts on site an appropriately skilled, trained and qualified arboriculturalist should be appointed and retained by the client for the duration of the development.
Any arboricultural or tree work operations are to be undertaken by suitably skilled, trained and experienced tree work operatives.
The Tree Protection Fencing shall be constructed as described in Figure 2, Page 13 of British Standard 5837:2005, also reproduced at Page 18 above. The supply and erection of this fencing shall be planned and programmed as the first priority operation and shall be processed before any other work takes place on the site.
All areas outside the Tree Protection Fencing will be deemed to be Construction Exclusion Zones and signed and treated as such.
The removal of the Tree Protection Fencing will be one of the last operations undertaken on the site.
All of the above details should be incorporated into subsequent drawings and method statements used for design and construction purposes or issued for use on site, to ensure that all involved and interested parties are fully aware of the areas in which access and works may and may not take place and so that they are briefed and made aware of the protective measures which we have specified.
