LaserAce and Trimble Geo XH
These two machines form the backbone of our
tree survey operations.
The LaserAce is laser operated
distance and height measurement tool. In a very short space of time using out own bespoke software we can measure
the height of a tree, the diameter, the height of the crown above ground level and the crown spread on the four
main compass points.
The data which is collected is sent to the
Trimble Geo XH hand held field computer via a bluetooth link and is processed by additional bespoke software
incorporated into Korec FastMap Mobile. The Trimble Geo XH has a Global Positioning System by means of which we can
plot the positions of the subject trees to one metre accuracy. Greater precision can be obtained if desired but
this affects productivity and increases costs. Thereafter we can manually add detail such as tree species, age,
useful life expectancy, physical condition and management recommendations.
On return to the office the collected
data is transferred directly to our desk top computers, into the FastMap Office programme and then can be
incorporated into Tree Condition Reports without the need for copy typing, thus providing speed and accuracy.
Accurate drawings in AutoCad dwg format can be prepared almost instantly.
